Privacy policy
This policy explains what QuoteGrader collects when you use this site, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.
What we collect
- What you type into the upload form: name, email, optional phone, ZIP code, roof details, and notes.
- The quote documents and photos you upload. These can include contractor names, prices, and sometimes your address.
- Basic visit data such as pages viewed, device type, and the ad you came from, collected by the Meta Pixel described below.
How we use it
- To read and grade your quotes and show you the report, and in some cases email it to you.
- To look up public records about the contractors named in your quotes, such as license status and reviews.
- To contact you about your report. We won't add you to a marketing list without asking.
- To measure whether our ads work and to show our ads to people who visited this site.
- To improve how QuoteGrader grades quotes.
- To publish anonymous, combined statistics, such as typical price per square in an area or how often quotes leave out an item. These never include your name, address, contact details, or any contractor's name, and can't be traced back to you or to a single quote.
AI tools
Your report is written by AI. We send your documents to Anthropic, the company that makes the Claude AI model, to read and grade them. Anthropic processes them to deliver that service and, under its commercial terms, doesn't use them to train its models. A copy of your upload and report also comes to our team so we can follow up if something goes wrong.
What we never do
- We don't sell your information.
- We don't share your contact details or quotes with contractors, including the ones named in your quotes.
- We don't let contractors pay to be recommended.
Meta Pixel and cookies
This site uses the Meta Pixel, a small piece of code from Meta Platforms. It records visits and form submissions so we can see which ads bring people here and show ads to past visitors on Facebook and Instagram. Meta may use cookies and similar technology to do this. You can manage ad preferences in your Facebook settings or block third-party cookies in your browser.
Our founder's roofing business
QuoteGrader was started by the owner of a roofing company. If that company's quote is among the ones you upload, it is graded with the same checklist as every other quote and can be recommended if it scores best. Your report will show a disclosure of this ownership whenever that company's quote is included. We never share your information with that company or any other contractor for marketing.
How long we keep it
We delete uploaded documents 90 days after your report is created. We keep your email and report summary for up to one year so we can answer follow-up questions, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
Your choices
Email us to ask for a copy of your information or to have it deleted. We'll do it within 30 days.
