Terms of use

These terms apply when you use QuoteGrader. By uploading quotes or checking the box on the upload form, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

What QuoteGrader is

QuoteGrader reads the roofing quotes and documents you upload and produces a report: a comparison of what each quote includes, grades, red flags, questions to ask, and a suggested pick. The report is generated by AI using a checklist written by a roofing contractor.

The report is an opinion, not advice or a guarantee

Statements about contractors

Reports describe what the uploaded documents say or leave out, such as "no license number on the quote" or "underlayment brand not stated." They are not findings about a contractor's honesty, licensing status, or quality of work. To check a license, use your state's licensing board.

Ownership disclosure

QuoteGrader was started by the owner of a roofing company. That company's quotes are graded with the same checklist as every other quote and can be recommended if they score best. Whenever its quote is among your uploads, your report says so next to the recommendation. Contractors cannot pay to be recommended.

What you agree to

Free beta

QuoteGrader is free during beta and offered "as is" and "as available." We may change, pause, or end the service at any time.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, QuoteGrader and its owners are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of a report or from any contractor's work, including indirect or consequential losses. If we are found liable for anything despite these terms, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the report, which during beta is zero dollars. Some places don't allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Privacy

How we handle your information is covered in our privacy policy.
